Phoenix Warehouse - Online Data Storage

Safeguarding Phoenix Data since 2001!

Because your financial data is a vitally important asset, AGDATA introduced a facility called the Phoenix Warehouse that will safeguard your financial information, both past and present.

What is the Phoenix Warehouse?

Security a Vital Consideration.

The Phoenix Warehouse is a secure off-site data storage facility that can be used from within Phoenix at the click of a button. You can backup and restore your data to a secure server via the Internet. To ensure security, your data will be encrypted and password protected by a Security Code. This means you and only you can access the information you have stored in your security folder.

Transferring your Financial Information to your Accountant or Consultant.

The Phoenix Warehouse can transform the way clients backup and distribute their data from within the Phoenix program. The process of backing up to or restoring from this data warehouse service is as is as two clicks of the mouse.

The owner of data in the warehouse can assign permissions to other users to `download` (i.e. restore) a copy of that set of books and if the owner deems necessary, can assign permissions for the other users to `upload` (i.e. backup) any changes to his data. This is an ideal process for accountants and book keepers who regularly deal with client`s data.

Why Was Phoenix Warehouse Developed?

AGDATA has developed this service due to increasing instances of clients losing their financial data due to:

Disaster Recovery Standards - a good practice is to maintain a backup of your data at a separate physical location. If you are affected by fire/flood etc. you still have data you can work from.

Loss of Backup Media - you always want to know where your backups are and ensure that you can get to them easily.

Insufficient Backup Media - if only one or two disks are used in a backup routine, good data can easily be replaced with bad data.

Ease of Data Sharing - a convenient way for multiple sites to share the one dataset.

Corruption of Data Held on Disks - magnetic fields from monitors, speakers etc. can corrupt data stored on disks.

Maintenance Issues with Drives - like all mechanical devices they sometimes need maintenance to maintain their reliability.

Irregular Backups - not backing up data regularly means that when `disaster` strikes, there is a lot of re-entry required or at worst, a total loss.

How to Subscribe

  1. You first need to have an open Internet connection. You then go in to Phoenix Gateway and select the Tasks menu and then the Phoenix Warehouse option at the bottom of the list, and select Subscribe to PxWarehouse. (If this option is not available your program will need to be registered). Complete this screen, including payment details.
  2. When you press the Send button, an Email will be sent with an Encrypted File attached to the Phoenix Warehouse administrator. On receipt of the request, a unique Access Key will then be generated and returned to you by Email. This Access Key is in effect the unique key to open your safety deposit box within the Phoenix Warehouse.
  3. When you receive the Email containing your Access Key back from AGDATA please do not try to open this Access Key as you can corrupt it, rendering it useless. You need to go into Phoenix and go to Tasks, Phoenix Warehouse, and Import Permissions/Requests.
  4. You will then be presented with the Import Permissions/Requests screen. If your Email is stored on the same machine as Phoenix you can select the Import from Email option, and press the Start button. Phoenix will then scan your Inbox and find the required file and import it automatically in to the correct location. Once it has done this you are ready to backup your data to the Phoenix Warehouse.
