2016 Regional Online Heroes - Winner
This is to our customers, the real heroes behind the award we received on Monday night. Cheers! We would not have received this recognition, or survived and thrived over the last 30 plus years without your support, feedback and business. We really are a company that has grown through your use of and recommendation of the Phoenix product suite. Thank you!
As many of you know, we are a family business that saw a need on our own farm and created a solution that filled that need. It wasn’t long after that, word got out and it became the business you know now. Mark Leahy deserves special mention in this award. Mark was our first developer back in the 1980’s and continues to this day as our lead Support and Training Manager.
It has been some time since AGDATA has put itself forward for recognition, in fact, the last time would have been for the Royal Agricultural Society’s Farm Software Competition back in the 1990’s which we always did very well in. The entire team at AGDATA Australia is thrilled to be recognised for what we do in the community and for our customers. We appreciate the event that Regional Australia Institute has put together in conjunction with Google and the Minister for Small Business the Hon Michael McCormack MP.

Why did you nominate? We felt that our values aligned well with what the Regional Australia Institute stands for and what they are trying to do for Regional Australia. We know there are many businesses out there that are definately entitled to the award that we have been honoured with. We would recommend they enter next year as the Regional Online Heroes event is an incredibly valuable learning experience.
What was it like to be a finalist? To be in the room at Google with so many talented businesses was a real plus for us. We all shared similar geographic challenges, and all 10 finalists were just as passionate about their business, product and customers as we are ours. They also enjoy the benefits of living and working in Regional Australia, like we do. We all learned something from each other and look forward to forging a strong network with the other finalists.

What do you get for winning? We’ve received loads of media attention, which is nice, but we’ve also received, and this is as important to us, the well wishes from our customers congratulating us. We will also get 90 days of support from Google that will help us continue to grow the business and a Pixel Phone that Google has recently released.
