We run several different enterprises, including a 25 sow piggery, mixed cropping, sheep and cattle on a small acreage farm for the area and volume of livestock we hold. We are in the Koppio Hills which has its issues when cropping and we also lease/share-farm several properties.
Due to running several different enterprises, Phoenix lets us keep our finger on the pulse. I can use “Enterprises” when entering our financials, (which I do as I pay the bills that come in) and when it’s time to do budgets, I can then look up what is financially viable and what is not, just with the touch of a couple of buttons in “reporting”. The accountant loves this too.
Budgeting is always a bugbear but not with Phoenix. I find the whole system is so easy and the reports are as simple or specific as you want them to be. I love that I can pay all the bills through Phoenix-Live and the book-keeping time is then cut in half. I always add as much information as is available on the invoices which proves to be very useful at a later date. We once had to buy a part for the header and the supplier’s computer was not coming up with the information required so I promptly got out my iPad and and found the part number from a previous invoice before they could find it themselves!
