I have used Xero, a program marketed as easy to use and found that it is overpriced, limited in capability, and has issues with some basic functions such as preparing BAS. I use Quick books for another business as it is cheap, however in doing so I lament the fact that it is very quirky and not intuitive to operate. I have worked with other accounting packages but Phoenix works for our farming enterprise. We still run a desktop version as the internet is not reliable enough for the live version.

Financials and budgeting are key in any business. To be able to compile it all in the program and then send it to our account is terrific. We also use the invoicing for our customers/suppliers. This is very simple to use and it looks professional.

They are continually changing (due to seasonal conditions) and they are also the first item that is requested from Banks, Accountants, Consultants, etc. Phoenix Budgets are user friendly and I love the easy way that the ‘actuals’ can be input after adding them into the ‘financials’ system. It makes it easy to compare actuals vs budget. Another benefit of Phoenix is the livestock system. Extremely easy to use, navigate and pull reports when you have an inquiry about stock numbers, etc.

We need to have access to up-to-date financial data in a format that is easy to interpret. Phoenix provides this in a program which specifically focuses on Agriculture. It is intuitive, current and it really helps us make informed financial decisions for our business.

Payroll has become a challenge recently with the changes in STP and I did find it daunting as I had never used a payroll program previously. Not used to these changes, having an integrated payroll program with Phoenix makes everything stress free and simplified. As the old saying goes, time is money and being able to run reports as quickly as possible as per request from the accountant is what I love the most about Phoenix. There are a range of different reports available all within several clicks of a button. Also, the fill function, genius, another super time saver!
